Goal and Objectives

The goal of the BWR issue team is to manage ecosystems

facing expanding bioenergy development to protect water

quality and quantity.

The objectives are to:

Enable educators, agency and independent advisors to better

assist producers...

  • In reducing or managing the conversion of CRP and other marginal cropland to grain production to minimize runoff losses.
  • In efficient nutrient management for water quality protection in ecologically intensive crop production systems, especially those producing bioenergy feedstocks.
  • To protect water quality and quantity through optimum irrigation and rain-fed water management.

And to...

  • Enhance awareness of natural resource managers and advisors in current and evolving bioenergy production issues including on-farm/fuel production energy efficiency.
